The Crystal Elves Chalkboard
Soren and Annalisa's chalkboard is filled with ferns, mushrooms and crystals, but you can draw any autumnal imagery you like. This guide is to bring you inspiration for your own autumn image to delight your darlings.
The intention with this board was to be messy and imperfect, much like the actual woodland floor, so don't fuss too much, let the shapes form organically
Build an outline you are happy with on your board (you can also do this on paper with crayons or pencils and it will be beautiful)
Begin adding lighter base colours to your picture
Build up the colours, thinking about where the light would fall
I like to use a light tone, then a darker complimentary one, then pinks and purples for shading
Now begin adding layers. I chose to add jarring purples, blues and oranges to this scene to add to the dreamlike quality
I left all of my original outline to add a sense of movement and texture
I used a yellow chalk to colour the background to add some atmosphere
